EMPOWERING STUDENTS IN THEIR OWN LEARNING
Within my classroom, student learning goes beyond the lesson. Each and everyday, my students are empowered to pursue their own learning avenues through a variety of ways. Making sure students know they have a meaningful voice and that I support their ability to make those executive decisions that benefit their learning is crucial to fostering student learning. Being able to develop that culture of thinking and to make their thinking visible celebrates students ability to learn a concept and dig deeper into their learning journey.

TEAM COLLABORATION
Utilizing different forms of collaboration allows students to provide appropriate feedback or goal setting. This also allows students to self-reflect on their own work and go back and revise the work of their own utilizing skills they have learned from each other.

STEM ACTIVITIES
In my class, we actively engage in at least one STEM activity a week. By engaging in these activities frequently, students are more adapt to utilize those critical thinking skills to problem solve on a regular basis. In turn, allowing students to use a more cognitive based skillset, this teaches students to take the initiative into their own learning opportunities.

UNIQUE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Being able to relate learning to the real world allows students to confirm that what they are learning can be applied to their everyday lives. Recently, we had the opprotunity to meet and ask questions to a Michigan Senator before attending a field trip to the Michigan State Capitol.
